Questions we are actually asked
What is the DHA pre-authorisation time limit?
Since 16 November 2025, a pre-authorisation request must be submitted within one hour of the physician placing the order. Insurers must respond within six hours for elective outpatient care and twenty-four for elective inpatient.
What is the penalty for late claim submission in Dubai?
A delay fee of 0.03% per day applies to late submission, late resubmission and late payment. It is charged on the claimed amount and is not appealable on the grounds that the claim was otherwise valid.
How long does an insurer have to pay a claim in the UAE?
Forty-five days from submission, and thirty days on a resubmission.
What is the difference between eClaimLink and NABIDH?
eClaimLink is the claims exchange — how a claim reaches an insurer. NABIDH is Dubai's health information exchange, for clinical records. A facility generally needs both, and they are separate integrations.
Why was my eClaimLink submission rejected without adjudication?
Structural validation runs before any human sees the claim. The commonest causes are a missing Emirates ID, a diagnosis code that is not ICD-10-AM, and an activity without the performing clinician's licence number.
