Roles and what each one can see

Roles exist so that the person at the front desk cannot read a diagnosis and the person doing billing cannot change a prescription. They are not a hierarchy.

The roles

  • Owner — everything, including billing settings, users and closing the account.
  • Doctor — clinical records for their own patients, prescriptions, orders and notes. Sees fees but not the clinic’s collections.
  • Front desk — appointments, patient demographics, payments taken at the desk. Cannot open a consultation note, a result or a prescription.
  • Billing — bills, claims, settlements and balances. Sees the diagnosis codes on a claim because a claim cannot be filed without them; does not see the clinical note.
  • Pharmacy — dispensing and stock. Sees the prescription for a patient at the counter, not the consultation that produced it.
Every view is logged

Who opened which record, and when. The log is not editable by anybody, including the owner, and it is what an NABH assessor will ask to see.
