Writing a prescription

A prescription is typed, not written. That is the entire feature. Handwriting is the most common cause of a dispensing error in Indian outpatient care.

  1. Search the drugBy brand or by molecule. The list is the same list the pharmacy dispenses from.
  2. Set the regimenDose, route, frequency and duration. Frequency is written out on the patient’s copy — “three times a day”, not “TDS”.
  3. Check the warningsInteractions and recorded allergies are shown before signing, not after.
